Utility Company Conservation Programs

GLCAC, Inc. in cooperation with local utility companies, offers special utility conservation programs designed to reduce out of pocket energy related cost and conserve energy.

Bay State Gas Program

The Bay State Gas Program, funded by Bay State Gas, is a weatherization program for those who heat with Bay State Gas. Services include insulation and weather-stripping. You must be receiving the Bay State Gas Financial Discount Heating Rate on your bill to be eligible. Note: You may be a homeowner or tenant to be eligible.

Mass. Electric Appliance Management Program

The Mass. Electric Appliance Management Program is funded by Mass. Electric. You have to have lived in your place of residence for one year, have an R-2 rating on your bill, and use more than 13 KWH per day to be eligible. An Energy Manager will review your electric usage especially your refrigerator. If your refrigerator of freezer is a high energy guzzler, Mass. Electric may replace it for free. If you have a water bed mattress, Mass. Electric may replace it with a regular mattress for free if you choose. The Energy Manager will bring energy saving light bulbs and water conservation devices and information on you can save on your electric bill. Note: You may be a homeowner or tenant to be eligible.

Mass. Electric Space Heat Program

The Mass. Electric Space Heat Program is targeted at homes that heat with electricity.. If eligible, energy conservation materials may be installed in your home resulting in huge savings on your electric bill.
