Racquel Mendez became a GLCAC IDA client in October 2009. Her goal was to save $2,000 in a 2:1 matched savings account to be used as a down payment on her first home.
In July, 2011, Racquel met her savings goal and bought a condo in Boston, MA where she and her 11 year old daughter Serenity will live, work and go to school.
Racquel told us “There are no words that can express how I feel today. I am a homeowner! Thank you for all the help and support that I received from the IDA program. I would not have been able to buy my first home if it was not for the training and guidance that I received in this program.”
Racquel is a hard working and determined single mom who set her goal and did everything that she had to do to meet that goal. Raquel’s success is what makes this program worth while.
