
As an independent contractor, the GLCAC, Inc. provides the City of Lawrence with management services for the City of Lawrence Lead-Abatement Program. Since the 1980’s The City of Lawrence Lead Abatement Program has focused on decreasing the instances of lead poisoning among children. The City of Lawrence has received a $3.1 million grant for the period March 2011 through February 2014 from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Healthy Homes and Lead Hazard Control. The program provides resources to identify and treat lead paint hazards found in privately owned residential housing located in the City of Lawrence. Our mission is to eliminate childhood lead poisoning and increase the availability of affordable lead safe housing in the City.
