Program Description

The Child Care Center is a non-profit center that has been providing superior quality care to the Greater Lawrence community since 1971. The Child Care Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children  (NAEYC).  The Child Care Center offers pre-school, kindergarten, after-school, and toddler programs. The goal of the program is to be an extension of the parent and to help each child succeed. All programs are located at 581 Andover Street, Lawrence, MA.

Program Components

Toddler Program

The Toddler Program includes children from fifteen months to two years, nine months. Toddlers are allowed to grow, develop and experience the world at their own pace, in a safe, warm and nurturing environment. All children are cared for by experienced well trained professionals in the field of Early Childhood Education.

Pre- School Program

The Pre-School Program services children from two years, nine months through five years of age. The classroom environment and curriculum follow the standards recommended by The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). All classrooms include mixed age groupings of three, four and five year old children. All activities are geared to the individual abilities and developmental needs of each child.

Kindergarten Program

The Kindergarten Program services children who meet the age eligibility requirement. A child must be five years of age by September 1st of the calendar year in order to enter this Program. The Kindergarten curriculum is based on developmentally appropriate practices emphasizing positive self-image and social growth while meeting the desired learning goals in the areas of language, math, science and creative expression.

School Age Program

The School Age Program services children ages six to eleven who are in the first grade and up. The Program follows the Lawrence Public school year calendar. Children attend the Program full day during all School vacations throughout the year including the summer months. School age children are transported to the Center by our bus from Lawrence Public Schools daily. The Program offers recreational activities such as sports, games, drama, arts and crafts, cooking and special events including fieldtrips.

Eligibility Guidelines

Contracted and voucher slots are based on a sliding fee scale developed by the state of Massachusetts Office of Child Care Services. The fee is determined by the size of the family and the gross monthly income of the family. In order to qualify for these subsidized slots parents need to be working or attending school for a minimum of thirty hours per week. Private slots are also available at a set weekly rate.
