The GLCPC program supports all member centers, including public schools, through the National Association for the Education of the Young Child (NAEYC) Accreditation Standard. The NAEYC process allows centers and public schools to achieve high quality recognition beyond the state mandates. We, also, offer technical assistance and funding to support all Family Child Care Providers for National Association of Family Child Care (NAFCC) accreditation in Andover, North Andover, Methuen and Lawrence. These accreditations are the highest level of accreditation that a center or family child care provider can accomplish. Currently, we have all twelve sites in Lawrence that receive CPC tuition assistance accredited by the NAEYC and nine of the family child care providers accredited or having achieved a level of CDA. In Methuen we have four out of six centers receiving tuition assistance accredited by the NAEYC with the two other centers awaiting their validation visits. In addition, we have three out of five family child care providers accredited by the NAFCC or having obtained a level of CDA. In Andover and North Andover, there are currently three of seven centers accredited by the NAEYC with three awaiting a validation visit and one just beginning the process. For more information on accreditation or to find out if your child’s center is accredited call our office.
