Community Action To
Recognize Luminaries

Friday, the Greater Lawrence Community Action Council will
celebrate its 40th anniversary with dinner and dancing at the Andover
Country Club.
Eight Community Action Awards will be given, including:
Public Service Award to David Bradley, executive director of the
National Community Action Foundation and one of Washington's leading
advocates for programs serving the low-income.
Community Service Award to Corrine LaCharite,
Director of the Methuen
Council on Aging.
Personal Achievement Award to Mr. and Mrs. Angelino Guerra of Andover
and their children, Dr. Lilia Guerra and Dr. Jose Guerra.
Community Action Award for a Large Business to Stride Rite Corp. for
its continuing support of GLCAC, Inc. Child Care Center.
Community Action Award for a Small Business to World Gym for its
continuing support of the GLCAC, Inc. Head Start Program.
Employee Teamwork Award to the staff of the Community Partnerships
for Children Program.
Employee Special Project Award to Ivette Ortega for her work on the
Toys for Tots Program.
Employee of the Year Award to Raymond Fontaine, a Head Start Teacher
who is also a former Head Start student.
